The list is long but things are crossed off

  We are getting back into the groove of getting through the list. I should capitalize it : the LIST.  Donald cleaned out the garage a bit so that more garage sale items can be placed there, as well as a spot for the dump items and re-use site items.  The bottom kitchen cabinets are done and I managed to go through all the items, and only minimal, must use items went back into the cupboards.  All the rest went into the 3 piles in the garage.  I work on Saturdays, so items are being priced with a sticker as I put them into the garage, then Donald only has to place them out on the day he picks to do the dreaded sale.

   It is simply amazing how much paperwork one saves.  I have set aside the tax filings and a few items for a file box.  Our boys have papers and they also will receive a file box.  We may have to save our younger son's important items for a few years as he is considering a military career after his 3+ years of schooling/apprenticeship are complete.  Luckily, he is not a pack rat/hoarder and does not buy hardly anything.  We also cannot send anything to our oldest son and wife, as they looking for a new place to live as the house they rent is being sold.  It is very tough to find accomodations in Victoria BC.

   I have made a list of all the furniture to sell.  We have decided to keep one antique sideboard,upright china cabinet and a small antique dresser.  All the rest will we sell.  Donald is mulling over what to do with his table saw.

   Ah, such fun.  Gotta keep the eyes on the goal.

We are on the road but not for rv'ing

     Sorry it has been some time since we have posted, but we are on the road at the present time.  We did not even have time to pull the RV out of winter storage - Don's mom of 93 years passed away Sunday morning and we drove for 26 hours straight through from one side of British Columbia through to the Saskatchewan - Manitoba border.
     She was a great lady - loved sports, especially curling.  She was blessed with three children, five grandsons and 5 great grandchildren.  She was only in assisted living for a month prior to her passing, and was able to drive prior to Christmas.  We will miss her.
    

A productive weekend

   We are still puttering away on the kitchen.  This weekend was quite productive with four coats of paint on the lower cabinets.  There is only two more coats to go.  Donald has made a wonderful wine rack on one side of the island.  I hope someone will enjoy all this work, as we prepare to get ready to sell this big house.  The good thing about doing all this work in the kitchen is having to clean out all the drawers and cupboards - hardly anything is going back into them, which makes it easier to pack up and also to show the house.

    Since the kitchen is in such a mess, there was no Easter dinner, which is just fine.  Donald has put on a prime rib roast into the Salton roaster oven and is cooking it out on the deck for our supper tonight.  It will be yum. 

   There are no pictures of the kitchen till after it is done, there is no way anyone is seeing this present disaster.
