The construction of our little storage building is continuing, and now we can see the end. The inside has been drywalled and today Kim put the primer coat of paint on inside. We may not get to the final coats of paint prior to having to leave. The outside has only one wall left for siding, the gable vents are in and the soffits are being done.
A few very rainy days has set us back and that mud is not very much fun. The excavator and trucks were coming and going, and that has disturbed the ground around the building.
The storage locker people have been informed that we no longer need the storage garage at the end of the month, so between cleaning that out, moving the few boxes that are in there, cleaning up the lot, and cleaning out the 5th wheel - man we'll feel like heading south for sure!!!!! Speaking of heading south, we have extended our booking in Desert Hot Springs for a little longer as we are having more company! Don's sister and brother in law, whom we spent some time with last February in Vegas and Lake Havasu, are coming there for the month of January - whoo hoo! They have rented a Park Model there, and perhaps we can talk Don's other sister into a visit as well.
No pictures of the little " dollhouse" to post, as it is too messy. Anyway, that's what the neighbours are calling it - The Dollhouse. Just wait till it has a red door, flower boxes and gingerbread trim.

we're back in the saddle
A busy couple of weeks - with each of us going our own ways in travels. Kim is back from the Toronto area, with great visits with family. Don is back from some northern BC travels for appointments, and is busy with the little building project.
Since we didn't get home till late last night, more updates and pictures, later!!!!
A big helooooooo to Uncle Bob - yes, we have finally posted!

looking forward to a rest in the south....
This summer has been so incredibly busy, we are looking forward to some resting time when we get to Desert Hot Springs ( yea, right ). The little storage/studio building is progressing along slowly with the roof trusses and roof sheeting now done. The guys have been busy the last day or so with the wiring, as there was rain in the air. Hopefully the roof shingles will go up today. Need a name for that building!
We may not post for a couple of weeks, as Kim is off to Toronto for some family visiting. There might be some postings from the big city. After she gets back, some more work on the building, moving our storage items, putting away everything here and getting the 5th ready for the big trip! Where does time go?
Bear with us as here is another Tucker picture ......
You forget how little your children were - Dad on the right was smaller than his wee son.

Building on the go
Things are busy here at the Shuswap lot, as the new building is on it's way with 2 walls up before the torrential rains hit last night. We quickly covered up the floor with poly because we don't want any of the underfloor insulation to get wet. Looks like we were successful. I will try to take some pictures today.
Kim has been busy mailing off Tucker pictures to family and friends while Don assists in the building effort. Our hot weather has left us, turning to a more comfortable 25 C during the day.
My dear friend, Penny, made this beautiful afgan for wee Tucker.
Our son is hoping he will sleep like this till he is 4 years old. Enjoy it while you can, my love!

Tucker Pictures!!!!!
We think our little Tucker is such a sweetheart! Isn't that the way is supposed to be? On his second day, we made another visit to their hospital room and more cuddling, of course. Mum and babe are doing very well, and they may be able to come home today or tomorrow.
We took our son, Nathan, out for dinner the night of the delivery and last night and it was great to spend some time together. There was also an invitation to join some friends at a home on top of Bear Mountain, a fairly exclusive new neighbourhood in Victoria/Langford. I managed to take some pictures for future firepit and living room design ideas. The house overlooked the ocean with views to Port Angeles, and a busy afternoon of cruise ships arriving. In the drydock near our kids house, the Disney Ship is going through a retrofit, and Keira says when it blows " When you Wish Upon a Star" from about a block away, it is very loud!
Exciting day today: we are off shortly to Cobble Hill, to see Rick and Paulette's new tiling job! While we anticipate it will be perfect and beautiful, we will report back if the job is up to their blog reports! Ha! Oh, and we are going to have a visit , too! And quilts... and......
Then perhaps more babytime later??????
